Edie Alvarez, Principal

I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Laredo Middle School and I cannot wait to meet each of you. Please allow me to share a few things about myself.

In 1994, I moved from Las Cruces, New Mexico, to join the Cherry Creek School District, and I have been with CCSD for 20 years. My Bachelor of Science in Education, with a minor in Business Administration, is from New Mexico State University. Additionally, I hold two Master's degrees, one in Curriculum and Instruction and another in Educational Leadership. I have 11 years of teaching experience with students in grades 3-6. In addition, I served as assistant to the principal for two years and have served as principal for over seven years at the Challenge School. I am looking forward to sharing my experience with the Laredo Middle School community.

During the upcoming weeks of my transition, I will be working at both the Challenge School and Laredo Middle School. My goal during this transition is to get to know each of the staff members, students, and families. To do so, I will be seeking opportunities to meet with you, the Laredo Middle School community members.

I am thrilled to continue the implementation of P.R.I.D.E. in the staff and students; and I look forward to working with the community of Laredo Lions that embodies the motto: “Every child, every moment, every day.”

Respectfully,

Edie Alvarez
