LIAC - Laredo Improvement Accountability Committee
The Laredo Improvement and Accountability Committee (LIAC) is a parent-run action-oriented group that meets monthly to address concerns and provide feedback on important school issues. We work alongside the Laredo administration to ensure the community's voice is heard in decision-making that affects our kids. Your input is critical to our success, so please join us! Attending LIAC meetings is a great way to learn about what's happening at Laredo and also to network with other parents and the school's administrative team.
Our meetings provide an opportunity to view and discuss various measures of school performance including:
    - the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP)
    - curriculum shifts (i.e., Common Core)
    - the hiring and retention of teachers
    - school climate, safety, and discipline issues
    - how federal and state legislation affects Laredo
    - how Cherry Creek School District initiatives affect Laredo
In addition, LIAC is proud to sponsor the annual Pride of the Pride event which honors students in all three grades who were nominated to represent each of the 7 components of the IB Learner Profile. In the spring of each school year, LIAC reviews the nominations and selects the winners and honorable mention candidates leading up to the awards ceremony.
LIAC also provides representation to the District Accountability Committee which advises the Board of Education on spending priorities, reviews applications for charter schools, and reports the effectiveness of district programs.
